Welcome to Aircraft Pilots of the Bay Area

Who Are We?

APBA is based at Oakland International Airport's North Field (OAK). Our membership includes those interested in airplanes and aviation, student pilots, instructors, mechanics, and professional pilots with thousands of hours of experience. Our membership also includes folks based at Hayward, Livermore, Concord, and other area airports.

Fly-outs are scheduled weekly; lunch meetings are scheduled bimonthly; parties occur once or twice a year.

Planning for our weekly Sunday morning fly-outs begins Friday afternoon. To get in on the planning, drop an email to our trip master, and ask to be placed on the flyout email list. If you don’t have an airplane to fly, feel free to ask for a ride. It’s customary to at least buy the pilot lunch, and some will accept some gas money, but seats are generally available.

Keeping GA viable at Oakland requires ongoing dialog with the Port. Support that effort by adding your name to our mailing list for infrequent updates, or to get more involved if you like. Drop an email to and ask to be placed on the APBA mail list. Hint: that gets you invited to the lunches and parties as well. 😊
